Statement of Work — ParleyPixel Funding Page

Section

1. Overview

ParleyPixel is a million pixel wall designed to raise $1 million in funding for Parley, a startup currently in development. Users purchase pixels in blocks, upload artwork or images, and contribute to a living, crowd-funded canvas.

This SOW covers the design, development, and maintenance of the ParleyPixel funding page only. It does not include work on the Parley application.

Prototype: https://parley-pixel.lovable.app

Domain: ParleyPixel.com

Client: RocketBean Studio (John Dufresne)

2. Scope of Work

Front-End

  • Pixel wall display showing purchased and available blocks in real time
  • Color selection tool — color choice is permanent to a user's account
  • Purchase flow: select pixel block (10x10 minimum), upload image, confirm and pay
  • Social sharing: users can share their purchase and the site to social media
  • Dashboard showing current funding total and available pixels
  • Post-funding state: messaging changes from purchasing to donating; homepage displays the completed wall with a thank you note
  • Front-end may reference and reuse applicable code from the Lovable prototype, provided it does not compromise security

Back-End

  • User authentication with two-factor authentication (2FA) on sign-up
  • SSO support for sign-in
  • Pixel ownership logic: purchases are permanent and tied to user accounts
  • Image upload handling and storage
  • Email notifications: purchase confirmation, receipts, and account-related emails
  • Admin and moderation controls: ability to pause the fundraise and remove images that violate Terms of Service

Payments

  • Payment processing via Stripe
  • Gross revenue tracking for revenue share calculation
  • Monthly revenue reporting shared with RocketBean Studio

Security

  • All user purchases and pixel ownership data must be secured
  • Secure handling of payment data through Stripe (PCI compliant)
  • AI-assisted development is permitted; however, all code must meet security standards
  • Security requirements and uptime expectations will be finalized in preliminary meetings

Analytics

  • Basic analytics setup (traffic, conversions, pixel sales) — estimated 1 to 2 days of setup time

Domain and Hosting

  • RocketBean Studio will manage domain and hosting purchases with guidance from the developer

End-of-Funding Deliverable

  • When funding is complete, developer updates site messaging from buying pixels to donating toward Parley
  • Homepage updated to showcase the completed pixel wall with a thank you note to supporters

3. Timeline

Target Launch: July 2026

Hard Deadline: August 2026

Maintenance is required from launch until one of the following occurs:

  • $1 million in funding is raised
  • 8 months have passed since launch

The contract concludes upon completion of the end-of-funding deliverable outlined in Section 2 (updated site messaging and homepage thank you note), or at the 8-month maintenance limit, whichever comes first.

Section

4. Compensation

This engagement is structured as a revenue share agreement. There is no upfront payment.

  • Developer receives 8% of gross funds raised through ParleyPixel
  • Maximum payout: $80,000 (based on $1 million raised)
  • Payments begin 3 months after launch
  • Payments are made monthly based on gross revenue collected that month
  • Payments continue until $80,000 is paid in full, or until $1 million is raised, whichever comes first

8% is the maximum budget for this project. If the contractor brings on additional developers, all parties split the 8% at an agreement determined among themselves. RocketBean Studio is not responsible for compensation arrangements between the contractor and any sub-contractors.

Section

5. Tech Stack

The tech stack is at the discretion of the developer. The developer should advise RocketBean Studio on any platform, tooling, or infrastructure decisions that have cost implications.

Section

6. Code and Account Ownership

All code, repositories, and third-party accounts created for this project will be managed under RocketBean Studio. This includes but is not limited to GitHub and any platforms required to operate the site.

The developer will be given appropriate access during the engagement. Upon contract completion, all access and ownership remains with RocketBean Studio.

Section

7. Contract Terms

This contract is effective upon signature by both parties and ends upon completion of all requirements listed in this Statement of Work, including the end-of-funding deliverable.

Upon completion of ParleyPixel, future development work on the Parley application may be available to the contractor. This is not guaranteed and would be established under a separate agreement.

Error handling, uptime expectations, and SLA terms will be discussed and agreed upon in preliminary meetings before work begins.
